Saint Louis FC Travels To California To Face Fresno FC Saturday
Saint Louis FC, winners of four games in a row, is back in action Saturday night in California. The Chupacabras are coming off a 2-1 win Wednesday night in St. Louis. On top of four straight wins, STLFC is also unbeaten in five and has moved into position to qualify for the United Soccer League playoffs. The club has not qualified for the playoffs in club history.
Kickoff on Saturday night is set for 7 pm in Fresno, 9 pm in St. Louis.
Stream the match Saturday night on ESPN+ or head to Kirkwood Station Brewing Company and watch the game with the St. Louligans.
Last Time Out
The Chupacabras stormed out of the gate Wednesday night at Soccer Park in picking up a 2-1 win. Before some fans had even made their way into Toyota Stadium, the home side was up 2-0 on Sacramento Republic FC. Corey Hertzog opened the scoring less than five minutes into the match. The newly blonde forward intercepted an ill-advised Republic pass and creatively gave himself space on a defender before burying his third goal of the season.
Just two minutes later, a play that begin as an STLFC corner kick resulted in Kyle Greig heading in his tenth goal on the season with an assist from Lewis Hilton.

Fresno FC allowed two goals to LA Galaxy II’s Frank Lopez in dropping its last match 2-1. Fresno has not played since that contest in front of 709 fans at StubHub Center on August 9. Christian Chaney scored Fresno’s loan goal in the 92nd minute.
Above The Line
Wednesday night’s three points officially put STLFC above the USL West playoff line. With 35 points, the Chupacabras are a single point ahead of eighth-place San Antonio FC. 11 games remain in the regular season.
A 2018 playoff berth would be the first in club’s 4 seasons.
Scouting Fresno FC
In 11th place, Fresno sits below STLFC on the USL West table and has dropped its last two matches. Saturday night’s match will be its first at home since July 14th and the Foxes will be looking to extend its three-match home winning streak.
Jemal Johnson leads Fresno with eight goals on the season followed by Juan Pablo Caffa’s seven.

And speaking of Jeremy, check him out on the latest episode of This Is Silly!. Listening to it you might think it’s from NPR based on the quality, but it’s actually a podcast from the St. Louligans.
Also be sure to check out last night’s episode of FC Soccer Weekly from KTRS. Listen to it here.
